International Business Communications (IBC 40)
Worum es geht
The MLS International Business Communications (IBC 40) course is designed as professional language training programmes for those involved in the world of business. Students choosing our IBC courses are typically aged 30 and over. Throughout the course you will continue to improve your English language ability through the context of business language. You will also practise key skills that are needed in any business environment, such as negotiation and giving presentations. You will also benefit from content-based study of a range of business-related topics. Topics are selected through class negotiation from five main areas of business (management, sales and marketing, finance and economics, strategy, media advertising and PR). The IBC 40 course provides 30 lessons of study in international classes, plus an additional 10 lessons per week of tailor made training on a one-to-one or small group (maximum 6) basis. On joining the IBC 40 course you will be asked to complete our Training Needs Analysis form to indicate the study outcome you are seeking. MLS discuss this with you and use the information to tailor the one-to-one/small group Element of the course to meet your specific needs. The IBC courses also provide ideal preparation for the BULATS (Business Language Testing System) or BEC (Cambridge English: Business) examinations.Course Aims:
- to improve your business English language within the environment of living and studying in the UK
- to improve your business English skills so that the right balance of accuracy and fluency can be achieved
- Element 5 – business language, developing language in a business context.
- Element 6 – business communication skills, practising English in a business context.
- Element 7 – content study, business related topics selected by class negotiation such as Management, Sales and Marketing, Finance and Economics, Strategy, Media, Advertising and PR.
- Element 9 – tailor made training on a one-to-one or small group (maximum 6) basis.

Introduction to MLS and Bournemouth
MLS is an independent specialist language school founded in 1987 and now provides accredited programmes in English Language, English for Special Purposes and University Preparation. The programmes are for adult learners aged 16 plus. The College welcomes over 1,000 students per year.
MLS is one of few privately owned English Language Centres accredited to run degree level business training alongside British Council accredited language training. Many of the courses integrate content study with English Language learning – a methodology known as Content Based Language Training (CBLT). The programmes are used by students seeking to develop their English for the world of work and by those students who need preparation before progressing to University study.
